THAT'S ME!
HAVING A (SPIKE)BALL
Image of two of my friends and I already pre-drenched before hours of intense spikeball.
Being an out of state student, the immense periods of rain that Seattle gets was quite the culture shock! Additionally, the sport of spikeball was not super popular back in Virginia. Combining the two was definitely an evening to remember!
As the clouds covered the sky, one of the student organizations I joined this quarter, RUF, took to the Denny IMA Field for a spikeball tournament! While I'm most certainly still an amateur at the sport, being able to make new friends and bond over the uselessness of rain jackets after a certain point, left me feeling a sense of peacefulness about coming so far from home to this new, unfamiliar city.
Across the FInnish Line
A report on the National Nordic Museum I curated in my Scandinavian Culture class this quarter.
For one of my major projects for my SCAND 100 class, we had to write a report and reflection on an event hosted by the National Nordic Museum here in Seattle, WA! For my topic, I chose the second lecture in the Nordic Innovation Series by Timo Harakka, the Minister of Transport and Communications for Finland.
Completing this short paper and allowing myself to delve into the lecture's contents reminded me of my passion for sustainable practices in the Nordic Nations. For years I have looked at Sweden, Finland, and Norway in awe as they surmount the insurmountable with climate change and industries. Being able to examine that relationship under a new context was an extremely exciting opportunity.

AC"COUNTING" ON YOU
The scratch paper from my first homework assignment for ACCTG 215!
Though not initially a class that I thought would spark interest and passion out of me, ACCTG 215 has quickly grown to be one of the most interesting topics I've studied.
This excerpt of my scratch work from my first accounting homework showcases the core of accounting - the accounting equation (A+L=SE).
ACCTG 215 is a lower division requirement for all business majors because accounting, as I've now learned is at the core of business. It is a topic I still know so little about, yet one that, because of this class, am now driven and passionate to explore. Initially, it was not an option I considered for my business degree, but now it might become my primary option of study!
