Being an out of state student, the immense periods of rain that Seattle gets was quite the culture shock! Additionally, the sport of spikeball was not super popular back in Virginia. Combining the two was definitely an evening to remember!

As the clouds covered the sky, one of the student organizations I joined this quarter, RUF, took to the Denny IMA Field for a spikeball tournament! While I'm most certainly still an amateur at the sport, being able to make new friends and bond over the uselessness of rain jackets after a certain point, left me feeling a sense of peacefulness about coming so far from home to this new, unfamiliar city.
