taking a dub with dub grub

My MKTG 301 Team's final marketing strategy recommendation for UW's Dub Grub platform.

One of the things I loved the most about MKTG 301 was the amount of creativity students were given with their homework assignments and projects.

The freedom and loose constraints of the assignments allowed me to incorporate my interests in ways I normally can't. For instance, I'm able to talk about the marketing bonuses given to companies who green wash their products, while having unstable, unsustainable supply chains.

One of my favorite avenues for inserting some of my own creativity was our final project. We were tasked with creating a comprehensive marketing strategy for Dub Grub (a UW food service platform).

While the intent of the project was focused on marketing, I was also able to explore the technical side of the app, which allowed our group to collaborate and suggest potential technical improvements that would help the marketability and consumer satisfaction in the long run.

The format and freedom that this class provided reminded me of the Honors program in many ways!

"pe"ace of mind

A silly little group picture of the 2023 Honors Peer Educators at our retreat!

We started off the quarter strong with a weekend retreat for all the peer educators!

While I was definitely a little (jk a lot) bit nervous for this, it was an amazing opportunity to meet and get to know the other peer educators for this quarter! Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely excited to be there. After feeling like I had dropped off the Honors community over the past year, this was a great way to get back into it.

We reviewed so many skills and opportunities to grow as students, educators, and leaders, as well as balance each of those three identities. With Honors 100 quickly approaching in the fall, I cannot wait to meet my students and spread some of the love and positivity these fellow PEs spread to me :)

netflix and bills

An excerpt of my group's final presentation for I S 445!

The topic of this presentation may confuse you, especially if you have ventured through my previous quarters' artifacts and know about my general mood towards finance. HOWEVER, this project ended up being on of my favorites that I've done so far!

I S 445 was all about learning SQL, which is definitely one of my favorite languages, probably even beating out python.

For this final project, our group looked at Netflix's stock performance over the years and compared it to various other variables.

My favorite application was the impact of social justice/equality centered films on the stock price.

Through some data analysis, we were able to detect that stock prices spiked not when Netflix announced their initiative, but rather when they set them in motion and lived up to its word.

Being able to relate my passion for data analytics with social justice movements and ideas was incredibly enjoyable.. it almost felt like a mini Honors course I made for myself!
