My reflection from teaching HONORS 100 this quarter!
After taking HONORS 397 in the spring, I was filled with mixed emotions about teaching HONORS 100 this quarter. On one hand, I felt empowered by the resources Nadra had taught us, on the other, I felt like an imposter.
As someone who maybe leaned in a bit more to their major than they did the Honors program, I felt at odds with teaching the course. The program had done so much for me, yet I had taken advantage of such a small percentage of what it had to offer.
While I found friendships through the program, I was closest with those who were unrelated to any path of my academic study and, quite frankly, I liked the disconnect it got me.
If nothing else, this experiential learning opportunity taught me the importance of finding balance between our social and academic/work lives - finding and setting boundaries is infinity more important than I ever realized!
